Kinesio Taping in Indirapuram
Kinesio taping uses a thin, stretchy cotton tape applied to the skin. Depending on how it's applied, it can provide light support, give sensory feedback about posture and movement, and help lymphatic drainage of swelling. It won't fix an injury by itself, but it can make training and daily activity more comfortable.
What it can do
Unlike rigid athletic tape, kinesiology tape stretches and allows full movement. It can be applied to offload a tendon slightly, remind you to hold a better position, or lift the skin to help reduce swelling and bruising.
Research shows modest short-term effects on pain for some conditions, and little difference from sham taping in others. Many people find it helps them move with more confidence, which has real value during rehab.
How we use it
Taping supports an active programme. For example, we may tape a painful knee so strengthening exercises are more comfortable, tape a shoulder to encourage better blade position during training, or use fan-shaped strips to help drain swelling after injury or surgery.
We teach you or a family member to reapply it if it's useful long term.
Practical points
Tape usually stays on for three to five days and can get wet. Remove it if the skin becomes itchy, red or blistered. It isn't used over broken skin, infections or active DVT, and people with fragile skin need a patch test.
Medical note
This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Treatment is planned after an in-person assessment by a physiotherapist, and we refer you to a doctor where symptoms need medical review first. If you have sudden weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain or severe unexplained pain, seek emergency care.
